About Mrs. Hollod
Hi!
My name is Claudia Hollod. I was born in Burlington, Washington and have spent the
majority of my life in Whatcom County.
I attended Ferndale schools
through 8th grade and graduated from Lynden High School. I
attended WSU and received a B.A.in English Education K-12. After
traveling in Europe, I was hired as a
5th/6th grade teacher in Myrtleford, Victoria, Australia for two years.
I returned to the U. S. and earned my Masters in Special Education
at University of California, Sacramento.
I began teaching in the Meridian School District in
1975 and for the next seven years, taught Special Ed. at MMS, MHS
and IRPS. It was my pleasure to teach in the Meridian Summer Migrant
program for a total of 13
summers.
In 1982, I decided to stay home and focus on raising
our family. I have 2 wonderful children, a boy,
now graduated from WWU and a daughter presently in college.
In 1997, I returned to work at TMCE as a Title 1 (reading help for students 2-3 years behind grade level) and ELL (English Language
Learner) teacher.
My favorite pastimes are reading, walking, and spending time with my wonderful family. I am actively
involved on planning and development committees in Birch Bay.
Reading and experiencing new cultures through my
students eyes is very rewarding. I look forward to working with
you and your child as a team. Working together
we can build your child's reading skills and confidence in this
critical and necessary life skill.
I would love to meet with you before or after school
or talk by phone or email concerning your child. Together we can build better readers!
