Board Special Meeting Minutes - 06/06/2001
CALL TO ORDER/FLAG SALUTE/INTRODUCTIONS The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by Rob Olson, Board Chair. Board members in attendance were Rob Olson, Sheri Folsom, Charlie Crabtree, and Mary Mattison. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. STUDY SESSION - POLICY DEVELOPMENT Board members and administrators discussed the possible revision of board policy in two areas: student conduct/discipline and high school graduation requirements. Discussion on student discipline policies focused primarily on the possible development of an exceptional misconduct code. There was consensus to move in this direction. A variety of issues related to high school graduation requirements were reviewed. It was agreed that high school administrators will prepare a draft list of graduation requirements that would be suitable for the near future and that a more in-depth study of this policy will continue for future policy development. EXECUTIVE SESSION The board went into executive session at 7:20 p.m. to complete the annual superintendent evaluation. ADJOURNMENT The meeting was adjourned at 9:25 p.m. by Chair Rob Olson. |
