MSD School Board Minutes - 05/01/2002
Board Meeting Minutes CALL TO ORDER/FLAG SALUTE/INTRODUCTIONS The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by Mary Mattison, Board Chair. Board members in attendance were Mary Mattison, Judy Boxx, Charlie Crabtree, Sheri Folsom and Rob Olson. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited with leadership from students from IRPS. Following the Pledge, Randy Flowers, newly selected Principal for TMCE, was introduced and welcomed. ACCOUNTS PAYABLE The accounts payable register for the district was approved on a motion by Rob Olson that was seconded by Judy Boxx. EDUCATION TOPIC - School District Budget and Finance Information Burton Dickerson presented a review of the district budget for the current fiscal year. Discussion followed based on specific questions from members of the Board. The Board discussed options for providing Traffic Safety Education in the wake of the decision of the Legislature to eliminate all funding for this program. It was the consensus of the Board to consider the options of offering the program through either an ESD cooperative program or through the services of a private provider. ADJOURNMENT The meeting was adjourned at 8:12 p.m. by Chair Mary Mattison. |
