MARCH
Room 19 News
After such a busy and exciting month of February, we are getting back into the groove of things this month.
READING
This month we are continuing to work on letter sounds and sight word recognition. We will be focusing on the following sounds this month:
/a/, /b/, /c/, /e/, /f/, and /g/. Please work with your child on these… practice makes permanent! These sounds will also be reinforced with the decodables that are sent home each week.
MATH
In math we are focusing on patterns and continuing to explore and understand the role that numbers play in everyday life.
WRITING
We are beginning to grade our own writing! It is very exciting to use our own rubrics to take a look at our journal writes. We are able to
sound out words, write sight words, and create illustrations with detail. We've come a long way!
REMINDERS
Please remember that there is no school for our class on Wednesday, March 26.
Please make sure you read with your child for a minimum of 16 days for at least 15 minutes each day. If you are scheduled to volunteer and can't make it, please let me know so I can plan around it. Finally, we have been doing the walk of shame to the library each week! Make sure those books get in their backpacks Tuesday night! Thanks for being such supportive families! You all have great kids that I love working with
