PARENT RESPONSIBILITIES

Goal: Parents will follow all school guidelines in order to make the school experincee a positive one for their student.

1. The end of the school day is 3:30.  The end of the school day is a very important time for each class. The teachers are recapping the day and filling the students in on any last minute information. Please honor this dismissal time.  All parents/guardians sign their students out in the school office and wait for them in the multi-purpose room. When picking up your child from school, send a note to the teacher, or call the school office no later than 2:30.

2. In the interest of sensitivity to the feelings and needs of our students, please do not bring gifts or invitations for parties, get-togethers, etc. to school.

3. Our school day begins at 9:15 AM and ends at 3:30 PM..   Students are welcome to school beginning at 9:00 AM, no earlier.  Teachers and office staff are unavailable to supervise students before this time.

4. Regular and on-time attendance is a necessary part of a successful school program.  We do understand that illnesses and family emergencies arise. Please call our school office to report your child's absence as soon as possible that same day. If we have not heard from you, we will try to phone you. State law requires that a written excuse regarding an absence be sent to school with your child upon their return to class.  Without a written excuse or a phone call from a parent the absence will be documented as unexcused. 

5. Attire which detracts from the educational climate is not acceptable. Clothing that displays inappropriate words, pictures, or messages should not be worn to school. Clothing that promotes gang/drug related activity or behavior should not be worn to school. Bare midriff, bare shoulders and shorts shorter than mid thigh are not appropriate.  Tank tops may be worn if the strap is 3" wide.   Spaghetti straps and flip flop sandals are not to be worn to school.  Students must dress for the weather as they will be outdoors for recess.

6. Accurate and up to date information is essential for the school to have.  Please keep the school office informed of any address or phone changes.  This is important if we need to contact you for any reason.  Please communicate with us if there is a family change or behavior concern.

7. In the event of any emergency situation that would preempt our school day, parents will be notified.
