BOX TOPS FOR EDUCATION
The IRPS staff would like to thank all of our wonderful families for participating in the Box Tops for Education classroom competition.
The response was tremendous and 16,000 box tops were collected over 3 months! The total money raised was $1,662.10. This money will be used to enrich our music program. We will continue to collect the box tops throughout the school year and they can be placed in the green Box Tops container in the foyer of our school. Thank you for making this a successful fundraiser!

THANK YOU COMCAST
Comcast is commended for helping our school district to complete several physical improvements at IRPS and TMCE on Saturday, May 3rd. Thank you to the many IRPS families who
volunteered their time as well.
The rain did not dampen the spirits or hinder the enthusiasm of the people! Comcast is to be recognized for its interest in our schools. It is our belief that cooperative opportunities with the business sector, whose members contribute time and talent to this project, and school district personnel are highly commended in coming together for a common purpose. On behalf of Meridian School District staff, students and parents, we thank you.
VOLUNTEER DESSERT SOCIAL MAY 21ST FROM 2:15-3:15 IRPS MULTI-PURPOSE ROOM

MOVE UP DAY
Thursday, June 12th at 9:45AM we will have our annual moving up activity for students only. Students will meet their next year's teacher for the first time and spend 30
minutes engaged in an activity. In order for all of the kindergarten classes to attend, ALL KINDERGARTEN will be at school on this day from 9:15-11:45AM.
Afternoon kindergarten will NOT be in session on June 12th.
DRESS CODE
As the days begin to turn warmer, clothing needs change.
Here are a few tips about dress expectations at IRPS. These tips can be found in your child's school folder. Attire which detracts from the educational climate is not acceptable. Bare back or stomach, bare shoulders, and shorts shorter than mid thigh are not appropriate. Tank tops may be worn if the strap is 3" wide. Spaghetti straps and flip flop sandals are not to be worn to school. If clothing is inappropriate, students will call home for a change of clothing.
IT'S YEARBOOK TIME!!
Order before May 31st and pay $11 with check payment only, to Meridian PTA. After May 31st the cost will be $13. Limited supply. Look for the order forms to go home this week of May 12th.
Don't miss out on your child's school memories!!

The primary purpose of summer school is to provide academic support to students. Academic support provides on-going instruction to students who need assistance beyond the established school year. Students will practice literacy and math daily. Those students working below grade level will be recommended by their teachers for placement in the program. If your child has been recommended to receive this support, you will be contacted in May. Summer school will be in session July 7-August 1, 5 days a week from 9AM-12PM.
