News from the IRPS Volunteer Coordinator
From my first day as volunteer coordinator, I knew I would enjoy working with all of the exceptional people who donate their time at IRPS.
Since then it's been made clear to me why our school is filled with such great kids - they come from great families! Any time there has been a need, there has been a cheerful volunteer willing to step up and get the job done. Whether it's absentee contact, photocopying, helping with special projects or working directly with students, your efforts are greatly appreciated. You are making the educational process a positive experience for everyone. For those who have special time constraints or may be a little nervous about whether you could be useful (I know I was when my son started school), please send a note or give me call any time. There is always a need and you can start as small as you'd like.
I look forward to meeting and working with many more of our student's families.

Parent's Pitch In!
When parents get involved in their children's school, everyone wins. Plus, volunteering sends the message to kids - education is important!
There are countless ways you can help in your child's school. Here are some ideas: * Tell students about the type of work you do. * Volunteer as a library aide.
* Attend public hearings on school issues. * Share your hobbies or travels with students. * Tutor children who need extra help. * Volunteer as a room mother or father. * Go with classes on field trips.
