Dear Parents and Guardians:

During the month of September we will be learning our classroom rules and behavior expectations. We will spend time practicing appropriate behavior.  I think it is important for you to know what our classroom expectations are.

Our classroom rules are:

  • Be Safe- Follow directions so that everyone stays safe.
  • Be Kind- Look out for each other. Try to include everyone in activities.  Help children that are feeling bad or hurt.
  • Listen- Listen when an adult or a classmate is talking.
  • Cooperate- Help other students and the teacher.
  • Rewards- students are rewarded for good behavior with praise, extra choice time, early recess, prizes and Gotcha tickets.

    Behavior Pockets-
Students with super behavior will earn a blue slip.
Students with good behavior will earn a yellow slip.
Students demonstrating inappropriate behavior will receive a red slip.

    The discipline procedure in
    our classroom is:

  • A friendly reminder of the appropriate behavior.
  • If the behavior continues then the student is given a 1-2-3 warning and then they must put their head down.  I will talk with the student about what behavior is appropriate.
  • If the behavior continues- the student will lose 5 minutes of recess.  The student will receive a red slip in their behavior pocket.  Parents will receive a note or phone call.

**Hurtful or overly aggressive behavior will result in an automatic time-out.  Students will receive a red slip in their behavior pocket.  Parents will receive a note or phone call.

    Thank you for your support,

    Michelle Siadal
