Daily Bulletin - February 5, 2018

  • Student Drop-off/Pick up:  Lately we have had several near-misses in the entrance to the school parking lot.  For the safety of students and others, please pull all the way up in front of the main doors and then proceed past the building and around the parking lot to exit.  Dropping off near the entrance or auditorium areas poses a danger to you, staff and students.  Thank you.

  • Father/Daughter Banquet:  The annual Father/Daughter "Fabulous 50's" Banquet is Wednesday, Feb. 7th in the MHS commons.  Cost is $20 per father/daughter pair, an $8 for each additional daughter.  Pictures start at 5:30pm, and the event is from 6pm - 9pm.  Tickets are for sale in the office.

  • Youth Engagement Intiative:  Do you want to learn more about employment and entrepreneurship opportunities in Whatcom County? Sign up to participate in the Whatcom Business Alliance and Junior Achievement Youth Engagement Initiative. By signing up you will attend a kick-off event next week at BTC, then participate in job shadow trainings and attend a field trip at a local business later. You can find out more information and sign up in the library.  Please note this is not a BTC event – just a location!  Sign ups and permission slips are due no later than today.  This is open for sophomores, juniors and seniors.

  • Seniors:  One half of your senior presentation slides is due Feb. 12.  Please make arrangements with your adviser to show them your progress.  It is up to you to connect!

  • We need subs! Meridian School District is currently experiencing a shortage of substitutes in a variety of areas. If you are interested in working with students and/or supporting your local school district, Meridian School District is looking for substitute help. Working in the schools as a substitute offers flexible hours and can lead to permanent employment. Currently we are searching for paraeducators, student monitors, certificated substitutes, custodians, bus drivers and food service workers. If you are interested in working for Meridian School District as a substitute or know someone who is, please contact Patty Streubel at pstreubel@meridian.wednet.edu and/or stop by the district office and pick up a substitute packet. Forms are also on our website at www.meridian.wednet.edu/employment.

  • After school policy is that you must be with a teacher, coach or in the library working on homework. There is no hanging out in the commons, lounges or elsewhere on campus, nor going to the store and then catching the bus home. Questions?  See Mr. Jacoby.
