There is a huge volume of information on the Internet about M.L. King and the civil rights movement. The links below will take you to sites with valuable information. You may also use any of the search engines to further help for more specific information.

Seattle Times MLK Site - An excellent starting place as it is rated as one of the best sources. There are many organized links as well.

Black History - An awesome site for exploring African American issues. Features treasure hunts, web quests, and a great list of links organized by topics.

Timeline of the American Civil Rights Movement - This is a good starting place for  basic information about key civil rights events in the 50's and 60's.

Celebrating Black History - This Time-Life site features history about civil rights and a photo gallery

World African Network - Black History site that also features an awesome time line.

African American History - Site has a chronological listing of brief papers on civil rights issues. A good place for information especially on Supreme Court Cases.

Papers Project at Stanford U. - An in-depth collection of information on King's life and legacy. Includes complete text of speeches, sermons, and letters with links to other sites.

Western Michigan's MLK Page - Site has a nice timeline on important civil rights events.

MLK Day on the Net – Easy to read site put together by students, featuring basic information on Martin Luther King and observance of the holiday honoring him.

National Civil Rights Museum - Contains a "virtual tour" and includes photos and information on historical figures, events, and court cases.

Profiles of Some Important 19th Century African Americans Includes Nat Turner, Sojourner Truth, Fredrick Douglas, and others. There is an interactive quiz at the site.

Greensboro Sit-ins Story of the sit-ins with timeline, photos and related links.

MLK ONLINE Individual site by a student with fairly complete information about MLK; a biography, speeches, multimedia, and links to other sites, many listed above.
