Civil War Newspapers
Prepared by Mr. Mack's Morning Core Class Spring 1999
As a project for our study of the Civil War each student had to write one article for a newspaper. We first thought that we'd print up a real newspaper, but after considering things we decided to make ours a "virtual gazette". You'll see a lot of different stories about the Civil War and we'd like to caution you that not all of them are true in every detail. This is definitely an historical fiction web site!
We had to divide up into North and South sides and our teacher Mr. Mack allowed us to form sides - - Boys were the South, Girls were the North (what was he thinking?!?!). Occasionally battle lines were drawn down the center of the room, but only one prisoner was taken and he was released when the girls discovered they were responsible for feeding him every day.
