My name is Jerry Sanderson, I and have been an educator in the Meridian School District since 1983.  I began my teaching career as a 2nd grade teacher at Irene Reither Primary School in the fall of 1983.  I taught 2nd and 4th grades at IREP.  During the construction of Ten Mile Creek Elementary School I moved to the middle school as a 5th grade teacher.  I later transferred to 6th grade and taught 6th grade for many years.  While as a teacher at the middle school, I had the opportunity to coach sports and serve as the middle school activities director for several years. It was my honor and privilege to accept the principal position at Meridian Middle School in 2003. I have remained at the middle school since then.

During my years of my service in the Meridian School District I have witnessed first-hand multiple changes, everything from new buildings, new families and a renewed commitment to our students and our community. I have worked with thousands of students and I am proud that both of my children went through the Meridian system, kindergarten through high school, and graduated from Meridian High.

Carol, my wife, and I have been married for 44 years, live in Bellingham. Several years ago we built a cabin in eastern Washington and enjoy our time there with daughter, Kinsey and her husband, our granddaughter, Saylor, and twin grandsons, Asher and Orion.
