My History - I am from a family of educators. My parents and three of my grandparents were educators. My extended family has numerous educators and I married an educator. When we have family gatherings we have a lot in common and a lot to talk about!

My Education - I graduated high school with honors in Yuba City, California, earned my Bachelor of Arts degree at Seattle Pacific University, my Master of Arts degree at Pacific Lutheran University, and my Superintendent’s credential at Washington State University.

My Educational Career - I have been a Superintendent for 13 years, and administrator for 19 years and an educator for 26 years. I began my career in education in 1989 as an elementary teacher in the Yelm School District.  Seven years later I earned my Principal credential and I was selected to be a Principal for the Snohomish School District.  Following Snohomish I returned to the Yelm School District to accept a Principal position.  Then in 2002 I earned my Superintendent’s credential and became the Superintendent for the Entiat School District. The Hood Canal School District was my next Superintendent position and I was there for five years prior to becoming Superintendent for the Meridian School District. I feel a strong connection to the people of the Meridian community. It is truly a pleasure to be in this school district and I cannot imagine working anywhere else.

My Family – My wife Patty and I value living within the Meridian School District.  We have five adult children and are now enjoying being grandparents.

My Favorite Hobby –I would say that my favorite hobby is to see and learn about new places. As a child of educators I visited many national parks, museums, battlefields and factories and have visited all fifty states and much of Canada. My wife Patty and I love to take road trips and experience new adventures. When I retire Patty and I plan to continue our travels.
