The Laurel Grange is hosting its annual Harvest Dinner on Saturday, November 14th @ 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. This dinner will benefit the Meridian Middle School with profits going to the MMS Library for the purchase of books and assessments.  If you would like to volunteer to help with this benefit dinner please contact Jill Horgen at 398-7455 or e-mail her at jmhorgen@aol.com.

 

Good Morning....it is Friday, November 13th, 2009......

A reminder to students and parents that the middle school is not open until 7:45 am…please be safe and arrive to school after our doors have been opened..

THE RAIN IS HERE!  The Class of 2010 is selling Meridian Golf Umbrellas to keep you dry!  They are 60" wide, black and white panels with the Meridian "M" on one of the panels with a wood handle. They sell for $28.00.  Umbrellas may be purchased at Irene Reither Primary School from the librarian, Jane Holland.   They will be available at future Meridian events or you can contact Julie Wasilewski at jwaz5@comcast.net or by phone at 398-2266. 

 

It’s Flu Season again…..Flu is easily spread from person to person. Health officials have stated that the most important step to prevent

flu outbreaks is for sick people to stay home. Please stay home if you are ill, and keep your children home from school, daycare

and other activities if they are ill.

 

 Symptoms of the flu include:

 

A fever (100 degrees Fahrenheit, 37.8 degrees Celsius or greater)

Cough

Sore throat

Runny or stuffy nose

Body aches

Headache

Feeling very tired

Some people may also vomit or have diarrhea

 

Other steps you should take:

 

Wash your hands frequently, with soap and hot water.

Cover your mouth when you sneeze and cough.

Don’t share drinking glasses, eating utensils, or food.
