Students well learn
to apply accounting principles and implement account procedures. This course
will provide an exploratory experience in preparation for positions in accounting
and also prepare the student for college accounting courses. Personal banking
and tax record preparation will also be addressed. |
| Computer
Applications |
Students will take
a hands-on approach to learning the intricacies of web page design. All
aspects of web site creation is applied. The use of digital cameras and
scanners are incorporated to produce web sites. Students will ultimately
create their own web site. |
| Science
Technology (9th) |
A unique, required,
yearlong course for all entering freshmen, this class will provide all students
an opportunity to gain a basic foundation in thinking skills as well as
in the fundamentals of science and technology. A major goal of the class
is to create students who are technologically and scientifically literate
and able to meet the challenges of the contemporary world. Taught by four
separate teachers, each an expert in his/her area, the student will spend
a quarter studying life science. a quarter gaining a foundation in physical
science, and two quarters learning computer technology using both Mac and
PC platforms. There will be many hands-on opportunities to learn and explore
in each of the disciplines. Students will also have a number of opportunities
to explore their own aptitudes and interests, and to begin developing tentative
plans for future career and educational goals. |

Office User Specialist MOUS I |
Do you want to spend
less time doing homework? In this course we will review basic typing skills
and quickly move onto using Microsoft Office. You will become a proficient
user of Microsoft Word and Excel for personal, career, and college use.
Upon successful completion of this class, students will be prepared to take
the Microsoft Office User Specialist (MOUS) certification tests at the core
level. Students who maintain a "B" average qualify for Tech Prep
college credit. |
