The Northwest Career and Technical Academy (NCTA) offers a robust course catalog that gives students the opportunity to participate in experience-based hands-on learning as they earn high school credits, college credits, and industry-specific certifications.

Running Start

Running Start is a program that allows qualified high school juniors and seniors to attend college classes and earn both high school and college credit. Students attend class on a college campus and become a college student, with no parent communication regarding grades, attendance, etc. Any class appearing on the “AAS Direct Transfer A” list will be accepted by all Washington state four-year public colleges. Tuition is waived, but student pays lab fees, textbooks and transportation.

College in the High School

College in the High School is a program that allows qualified high school students to take college-level courses within their school and earn both high school and college credit. This is currently offered through Everett Community College. Since all classes in the program are on the “AAS Direct Transfer A” list, Washington state four-year public colleges will accept the credits.
