April 1, 2020

Dear MP3 Families,

We’re all adapting to a new normal. Although we are a homeschool community, coronavirus has changed our jobs, our homes, our schedules, and events.  As our new reality sinks in, I wanted to take a moment to share with you how we plan to support our MP3 students and families.  Included in this message you will find information about learning opportunities, weekly contact, April reviews, and Spring Break.

First, our MP3 teacher team has been hard at work creating a BINGO learning opportunity for at-home learning. The BINGO learning opportunity complements the campus classes however this is not required to complete; instead, it is a resource for activities to add to the good work happening at home. Please look for an email from your SLPC to access the BINGO learning opportunity.

Secondly, our SLPCs want to stay connected with your family. SLPCs will continue to reach out to families on a weekly basis to check in and see how things are going with home learning, re-enrollment, curriculum, next year’s SLPs, etc. This can be done on the phone, a Zoom call or for our remote students to continue your routine method of weekly contact.  Now that there is a “stay-at-home order”, your weekly schedule could look different than it did a few weeks ago. It would be ideal to have a consistent time each week for SLPCs to connect with families and students. SLPCs will reach out to you if they haven’t already set up a day and time that works best for both of you.

Next, student learning plans and progress monitoring are good practices to support students, however, April reviews will not be required this month.  As the COVID-19 situation continues to evolve, we will update you with information and guidance.

Finally, Spring Break is next week, April 6-10. After Spring Break, the 2020-2021 campus schedule will be available. Thank you in advance for completing your re-enrollment forms so we can begin to register our current MP3 students into campus classes for next year.

Thank you for your patience while we worked on getting clarification on ALE requirements during school closure. In the meantime, take care of your family, yourself and stay connected.

We’re in this together!
