Dear MP3 Families,
In honor of teacher appreciation week, I wanted to recognize our parent-educators for how much you’re continuing to do to support your child’s education. Also, I’d like to recognize our MP3 staff for their dedication and passion for teaching kids and supporting families in their journey of homeschooling. MP3 is a special place because of you! Happy Teacher Appreciation Week and THANK YOU for all that you do!
As we work together to finish the school year strong, we are working on preparing for next year as well as staying connected. Included in this message you will find information about campus classes and remote learning. We’re in this together!
Campus Class Connection Zooms on Mondays with a campus teacher is something new we are doing to stay connected. Each week you’ll get a zoom invite email from a different campus teacher so your child can connect with their campus teachers and friends based on class periods. This week, teachers zoomed with their 2nd-period classes so next week you’ll get a zoom invite from 3rd-period teachers.
Weekly contact with SLPCs for our remote students and campus students not able to join the campus class connection zooms will continue the 1:1 scheduled phone, FaceTime, or zoom appointments or email depending on what works best for your family.
BINGO learning opportunities will continue to be shared with families from your SLPC. It is a resource for activities to add to the good work happening at home but not required.
Google Classroom is being implemented in the following campus classes, Washington State History, 5th-8th writing, and 1st-8th grade art classes. We are trying new things- we are learning as we go- being perfect isn’t important but trying is!
May and June monthly reviews will not be required due to the school closure; however, SLP progress monitoring is a good practice to support students.
MP3 Directory is a way to share your contact information with other MP3 families to stay connected. If you would like your information shared with other MP3 families, please complete the MP3 Directory form by Friday, May 8th. Please fill out one form per student. This information will only be shared with MP3 families that participate in the survey.
WINGS 2020-2021 is open to start creating next year’s student learning plans. You’ll be able to see your child’s campus class schedule as well. Please let us know if you need to make changes to your campus schedule. Your SLPC will be supporting families with curriculum and approving classes in SLPs.
