Laurel Road Safety Updates – Starting September 22

Beginning Monday, September 22, you will notice new signage and traffic cones in our parking lot to assist with dismissal. Our goal is to keep students, families, and staff safe while improving traffic flow. These changes are designed to reduce congestion on Laurel Road and minimize blind spots, creating a smoother and safer dismissal process for everyone.

Here are the four adjustments we’ll be implementing:

  1. Entrance Westbound off Laurel Road Only- This helps keep traffic moving and reduces congesting at the entrance.
  2. Form Two Lanes – Drivers will form two lanes in the MP3 parking lot to reduce backup. Signage and traffic cones will be in place in the morning so families can practice this process.
  3. Zipper Merge – As the lanes come together near the loading zone, please take turns merging to ensure a steady, safe flow of traffic. Morning practice with signage and cones will help families get familiar with this process.
  4. Right Turn Only – All cars exiting during dismissal will be required to turn right to keep traffic moving and minimize blind spots. This applies to dismissal only, not morning drop-off.

We appreciate your cooperation in helping make dismissal safer for families and vehicles on the road. While the MP3 parking lot dismissal process has been going smoothly, these adjustments will help us continue that success by reducing the number of vehicles on Laurel Road.
