In Meridian, we believe in fostering an environment that supports the physical, social, and emotional well-being of our staff and students. School nurses, like Stacy King, are crucial to this mission.

Beyond their daily tasks that keep our students safe and healthy, our nurses conduct vision and hearing screenings for over 1,000 students each year. This early detection of issues that could impact learning is vital in supporting our students. Our school nurses also provide essential care that allows students to stay in school. Whether it’s administering daily medications or providing emergency EpiPens for allergies, our nurses ensure that students receive the support they need.

Our school nurses are integral to our students’ success and well-being. Their expertise helps create a safe and supportive space, and is essential in keeping students healthy and in school. Mrs. King explains, “Students need to be healthy to learn effectively. Without good health, their ability to succeed in school is hindered.”

Mrs. King shares that she loves working for Meridian and values the strong sense of community, describing the staff as her extended family. Her dedication to supporting both students and staff is evident in her daily interactions and the care she provides.

This commitment to health directly aligns with Meridian School District’s core value of wellness. By ensuring that students are physically, emotionally, and socially supported, our school nurses help create an environment where every member of our learning community can thrive.
