MMS Families,
Tomorrow is the first day of Smarter Balanced (SBA) testing at Meridian Middle School. Students will test again on Wednesday, May 6, and Thursday, May 7, with additional testing sessions scheduled in a few weeks.
Testing Details:
- Testing will take place from 8:05–9:45 AM each day
- Students should bring:
- A fully charged Chromebook and charger
- Wired headphones (we have some available if needed)
- A water bottle
- A book for after testing
- No electronic devices (phones, smartwatches, fitness bands, etc.) are allowed during testing. These must be turned off and stored in backpacks for the entire testing window
- The remainder of the day will follow a shortened schedule with all four periods and lunch
Reminders for Students:
- Arrive on time
- Charge your Chromebook
- Get a good night’s sleep
- Eat a healthy breakfast
Why It Matters:
The SBA is one way students demonstrate what they know and how they are growing. At Meridian, we believe every student is capable of high-level learning, and we’ve been encouraging students to take their time, use strategies, and show their best thinking. The results help us understand student learning and guide our instruction moving forward. Results will be available in Skyward by September.
