Unity Care will be offering a free mobile dental clinic for middle and high school students on Tuesday, June 2. Services include a visual dental exam, fluoride treatment, and referrals for additional treatment if needed. Registration forms are available in the school office, or families can call the school to have a form sent home with their student (MMS: 360-398-2291 | MHS: 360-398-8111). Please note that Meridian Middle School students who participate will be transported to the high school in a district vehicle with Family Services staff. This is a great opportunity to access no-cost preventive dental care for your student.

Meridian Middle School coaches will be hosting a Middle School Football Camp on June 4 and 5 from 3:00–4:30 p.m. at Meridian Middle School for current 6th and 7th grade students interested in football. This is a no-contact camp focused on learning the fundamentals of the game, including safe tackling techniques, route running, and other football basics. Students should bring a water bottle, gym shorts, a t-shirt, and athletic shoes (cleats preferred). This is a great opportunity for students to learn more about the program, build skills, and connect with coaches before the fall season. Fall football sign-ups will also be available at camp. On Monday, June 8 our 8th graders will begin their day at Meridian High School to tour their campus and get families with life at MHS.

If you normally drop off your student at school, please plan to drop them off at the high school on this morning. Students who ride the bus can simply get off at MHS instead of riding over to the middle school that day.

Additional details, including a map of the MHS drop off loop will be sent specifically to 8th grade families ahead of this date. Stay tuned!

Our annual 8th Grade Promotion event will be held on the morning of the last day of school – June 10 – at 9:30am. This is a time of celebration of our 8th graders and their completion of middle school and transition on to the last part of their K-12 academic career.

The ceremony will include musical features, remarks from Mr. Kratzig and incoming 9th grade class president Aliza M., as well as the presentation of certificates. The ceremony should last approximately 45 minutes and afterward, families are welcome to join us for refreshments in the lobby and then take their 8th grader home.

If you and your children are experiencing homelessness, they could be eligible for services including transportation to and from school, clothing, and free meals. All requests must be made before 2:00 pm. If your student already knows their transportation is different for the day (for example, they usually ride the bus but today you’ll be picking them up), you do not need to contact the office.

If your student is riding a different bus (such as going home with a friend), a written request from a parent/guardian or a phone call to the office is required. Requests must be submitted to the main office before 2:00 pm.

The best way to ensure your student is ready for an early pick-up is to send a note in the morning. If you call instead, please contact us at least 10 minutes before pick-up time so we can transition your student to the office.

If someone other than a parent, guardian, or emergency contact will be picking up your student, the office must hear directly from a parent. Please provide the person’s name and relationship to your student.
