School Board

We appreciate everyone's interest in our schools and encourage the public to attend School Board meetings. Community participation is a vital part of our school system's success.

Regular School Board meetings are held in the Library at Meridian Middle School located at 861 Ten Mile Road. The meetings start at 7:00 p.m. and occur on the 3rd Wednesday of each month. When there is a change in time, date or location, public notice is given through the news media and the district website.

Special meetings are held when needed on a date other than the regularly scheduled meeting. Notice is given in advance through the local news media and on the district website when a special meeting is scheduled.

All regular and special Board meetings are open to the public, and all actions authorized or required by law are taken at these meetings. However, the Board may meet in closed (executive) session to discuss matters dealing with personnel performance, real estate or employee negotiations. Minutes of all regular and special Board meetings are matters of public record.

Citizens wishing to address the Board may do so under the guidelines provided.

The mission of the Meridian Public Schools is to meet the diverse educational needs of all learners so they can become ethical, competent and productive contributors to a democratic society in an ever changing world.
