On the April 22 special election ballot, our community will be asked to consider a bond measure to build a new Meridian Middle School. This bond measure focuses solely on building a new Meridian Middle School, which our community continued to prioritize in recent feedback.

The recommendation to build a new Meridian Middle School follows a comprehensive, multi-year process to assess our district’s facility needs, which included input from a committee of parents, staff and community members.

Built in 1938, Meridian Middle School has served our community for decades. While our maintenance and custodial teams have worked diligently to maintain the school, the costs of keeping up with the aging infrastructure continue to rise.

The current building struggles to meet modern standards for safety, accessibility and energy efficiency. A new school would address these issues, providing a safer and more accessible learning environment for both students and staff.

Through an extensive community feedback process, we’ve identified key areas where you had questions. To address these, we’ve created informative videos and made additional resources available on our website.
