Thank you to everyone who completed our budget survey. You provided insightful and thoughtful feedback, and we really appreciate it.

From the survey results, you identified learning as the district’s top priority, followed closely by belonging and support.

Common themes emerged from your responses. Families and staff expressed a desire for academic rigor for all students, from those who need additional support to those who are excelling and seeking more challenges. We also heard a call for increased support for both students and staff, including support for academic needs as well as overall well-being. We will use this information as we continue working through the budget process.

Unfortunately, the latest updates from the state legislature include budget proposals that would result in cuts to education, particularly to early learning. Despite ongoing efforts by districts across Washington to raise concerns about the difficult financial conditions we are facing, the state continues to refuse to fulfill its constitutional responsibility to fully fund education.

We will provide an update when we know more. Thank you for your continued partnership.
