Purpose/Goal:
- Implement an update of Board policies and procedures including 2022/2022P to incorporate the use of artificial intelligence (AI) tools in education.
- Review existing model policy and procedure language and examples from other school districts to align with the district’s strategic plan and instructional goals.
Basis for Establishment:
- To develop a structure for the incorporation of AI to support the work of staff and instruction for students.
Decision-making Process:
- This team will be recommending language for the presentation of policies and procedures including 2022/2022P to the Superintendent for consideration.
Plan of Work:
- 2025-26 School year, 4 monthly meetings
- Meeting 1 – Review purpose, OSPI Guidance, and model policies (WSSDA and other districts)
- Meeting 2 – Continue review of model policies and suggested revisions
- Meeting 3 & 4 – Finalize recommendation
Meeting Dates: All meetings will be 5-6:30 p.m. in the Meridian High School library.
