Hello Trojans!
It has been great to see our school settle into its regular rhythm. There’s something really comforting about a routine. It gives students a sense of predictability and helps create the conditions for them to feel comfortable, connected, and ready to learn. It was also exciting to see T3 get underway this week! For many students, this is a new part of their school experience, and I was really impressed by how smoothly our first T3s went. As we move through the semester, I think this time will become an increasingly valuable opportunity for students to get extra support, connect with teachers, and make choices about what they need. Students have some choice and voice in how they spend T3, and while we’re coaching them at school to make the most of that time, we’d love for families to ask about it at home, too!

Showing Up Matters: Show Up for ConnectionSchool is about more than academics. When students attend regularly, they have opportunities to build friendships, strengthen relationships with teachers, and engage in activities. These connections help students feel a sense of belonging, one of Our Commitments. Showing up helps students stay connected to the people and experiences that make school meaningful. Senior Class MeetingThere will be a senior class meeting on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, during T3, in the auditorium. A representative from Jostens will be here to discuss cap and gown ordering.

FAFSA InformationThe 2027-2028 FAFSA officially opens on October 1, 2026. Completing the FAFSA early is critical because some aid (including state grants or institutional funds) is distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.
Despite some speculation of reductions, the Pell Grant program remains fully funded. This program supports low-income students. Pell Grants do not need to be repaid and can cover tuition, fees, and other college costs.
Students do not need to wait until October 1st to get ready. Students can :
Create an FSA ID/StudentAid.gov account with this link and
Gather the relevant information needed to complete the form.

PSAT InformationIf you signed up for the PSAT, it will be administered on October 20th from 8:00am to 12:00pm in the MHS Auditorium. Below you will find a link to some PSAT study materials.

To allow our staff sufficient time to locate and prepare your student, all end-of-day pick-up requests must be received by 2:00 p.m.
If a pick-up request is received after 2:00 p.m., we will do our best to have your student ready; however, we cannot guarantee that your student will be ready at the time of pick-up.

Picking Up Your Student Early From School?If you need to pick up your student early from school, please contact the office at 360-398-8111. We would be happy to get your student for you. If possible, please try to call at least 30 minutes in advance. We understand that emergencies happen and a last minute pick up may be needed, but it is great to have the extra time to make sure your student is ready when you arrive.

Arriving Late To SchoolPlease remember to sign in, in the office, when you arrive at school. Make sure to write your first and last name on the sign in sheet. Remember we need to be able to read your writing.
