As we continue the work of the district, we are seeking increased community voices. Early in January, we announced the application for a new Social Media Task Force whose task would be to recommend a district policy outlining district resources and parameters using social media. We also announced the development and application process for an ongoing Equity & Access Committee. The purpose is “to collaboratively examine equity and access barriers for students and families of the Meridian School District. Our aim is to better understand and address eliminating barriers so we may recognize, embrace, and protect the dignity of each student as a valued and important member of our school community.” The application deadline is Tuesday, February 23rd. Today we are announcing the development and application for an ongoing Community Involvement Committee. The purpose is “to collaboratively examine the current status of limited community involvement in district actions, committees, programs, and board meetings. Enlist a diversity of perspectives to increase engagement and participation by district and community families. Develop a multi-prong approach to creating events, activities, and opportunities to involve families and students.” The application deadline is Wednesday, March 3rd.
