Purpose:

To develop a new strategic plan for Meridian School District that provides a road map for 2023-2028 promoting inclusive instructional practices, facilities, belonging, and prepare us for the growth of our district so each and every student has opportunities to excel. We seek many voices to support this work. The 2023-2028 MSD Strategic Plan will be presented at the second MSD School Board meeting in January 2023.

Basis for Establishment:

  • Develop a foundational understanding of the previous (2017-2023) MSD Strategic Plan by examining previous Vision, Purpose, and Collective Commitments of the Meridian School District.
  • Increase the diversity of voices and welcome multiple perspectives to fully understand the experiences of all students and families.
  • Full representation of each building, district employees, families, and students. Education is a generational endeavor for ALL students.
  • Guidance for all MSD initiatives.
  • The establishment of metrics to drive the accountability and advancement of each goal within the MSD Strategic Plan.

Plan of Work:

  • Examine MSD Vision, Purpose, and Collective Commitments.
  • Develop a common language and purpose for this work.
  • Seek metrics to measure and guide advancement of each strategic plan goal.
  • This work is going to be focused on inclusion of identified Commitments, reviewing the existing goals and metrics to measure and guide advancement of each strategic plan goal, and development of new metrics and accountability measures.
  • Develop accountability measures to be examined and reported each school year.

Meetings:

There is a combination of 10 committee meetings and four all-district in-service meetings. Committee meetings will be held at 5:30 p.m.

Vaccination:

Volunteers serving on committees are on campus for a period of time and work in close physical proximity to others while on site. Therefore, they would be considered “on-site volunteers” and subject to the vaccination requirement. Before parents/guardians or community members could engage in work on the committee, the district would be required to verify the members’ vaccination status or entitlement to an accommodation or exemption.
